Anatomy

Everything in the world ages, and even a short passage of time yields changes. When time is measured in years and decades, these physical transformations become much easier to see.

They are visible chroniclers of an object’s history, offering a means of understanding the transitions that have happened over time.

Anatomy​ is a series of photographs taken of a 96-year-old car. This work, however, is not really about automobiles; it is about how we age. When I began photographing the car for ​Anatomy​ in early October 2018, I had a general idea of what I was hoping to achieve. It was necessary to explore the concept of personification that seemed so obvious to me.
